~Down The Rabbit Hole~
---------------------------------

Inspired by Lewis Carroll's - Alice in Wonderland:

'Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went down to look about her and to wonder what was going to happen next. First, she tried to look down and make out what she was coming to, but it was too dark to see anything; then she looked at the sides of the well, and noticed that they were filled with cupboards and book-shelves; here and there she saw maps and pictures hung upon pegs. She took down a jar from one of the shelves as she passed; it was labelled `ORANGE MARMALADE', but to her great disappointment it was empty: she did not like to drop the jar for fear of killing somebody, so managed to put it into one of the cupboards as she fell past it.'

~by Lewis Carroll, from Alice in Wonderland. All rights for the above written passage remain with regisitered holder/s.

This is my first ever photo-montage piece!

As you can probably tell ;) This was a project set for my university course in Illustration. The idea was to take the photoshopped person and place them in a montage of our choice. I chose to montage a scene from 'Alice in Wonderland' as it would encompass creating something realistic in look for a very ficitional idea. Plus I had studied the books at A-Level and know them well.

I chose the 'down the rabbit hole' chapter as it meant that I had a challenge, but not that of a whole teaparty for example. However I found it oh so much more challenging. I'm very new to photoshop, so I learnt so much from this. I chose to go for a more 'disney-esque' version of the scene as I didn't want the hole to look like a library, and to create a ' plesant' falling atmosphere. Of course floating objects turned out to be a pain, and it was so hard getting the 'darkness' of the hole right, as well as the hues for such a 'fantasy'.

I know it's not 'correct' to the passage. I wanted it to be recognised as a hole without reading the package, hence the weird hole I created. Also the image I found of Quinta da Regaleira added to the fantasy feel with it's beauty, and I didn't want to cover that with the maps and pictures mentioned. Also I chose a full jar of orange marmalade, so that you could tell what it was. Oh and the whole is bottomless to shed light and to make it more fantasy-esque.

I'm still not happy with it. I just can't seem to work out exactly what is the main problem. I keep tweaking and it just doesn't improve :(

The following describes where each image came from which was used and due credit is given to each artist for their own image in it's right. The only right I have is over the composition and creation of the montage of images you see above:

All other parts (as far as I can remember) are either from [link] - Photoobjects or there a a small amount that I was unable to source, back, but I don't think any are on DA.

If you own one of the pictures used, or know of one I have forgotten to credit (please forgive me if so, there are so many components in this and I haven't the best of memory and I was pushed for time) then let me know. Either of addition information, or if you are unhappy for it's use and I will have to modify this image. I do apologise fully if such is the case, but as far as I'm aware ( I have checked each images rules) I should be ok.

Feedback and help very much appreciated! As being my first go and all.

Copyrights as described.

It's been a very long time since I commented on a work from you ;__; ~ May I say, then, that this montage is very well done? It really fits with the Wonderland--- down the rabbit hole theme. I love the placement of the objects which were collaborated here =] And it gives me an idea of a later project for creating objects to create a large... I MEAN LARGE Montage ^_^... o__o -ideas connect and connect- -calms down-

Anywho, great work  as I cannot find any work that has really let me down. You put so much effort in each piece you post here, that I can't help but love and cherish each uniqueness that luminates from them ^^.

Keep up the great work, Iggy =] -waves-
